Concrete in Charlotte

Charlotte covers an enormous range of housing stock, and driveway work here changes completely depending on which part of the city you are in. Pre-war neighbourhoods close to Uptown — Dilworth, Elizabeth, Plaza Midwood — often have narrow original driveways running down the side of the house to a rear parking area, frequently poured before modern base practice and now well past their service life. Access is the constraint in these areas rather than the concrete itself. Post-war and 1960s-70s suburbs have wider front-loaded drives that are usually replaceable in a straightforward two-day job. Newer construction in the south and north of the city tends to have driveways that are structurally fine but were poured on fill that has since consolidated, which shows up as a settled panel or a step at a joint rather than as general cracking.

How we quote here

We come out, look at the slab and the ground it sits on, and give you a written scope. Where a repair will do the job we say so, and where a slab needs replacing we explain what specifically is telling us that — settlement, base failure, structural cracking — rather than pointing at surface appearance. Charlotte is inside our normal working area, so a site visit is not a special trip.

Every quote states slab thickness, base depth, reinforcement, joint layout, disposal and the cure window. Site visit and quote are free.
